When is the right time to shop for my mothers dress?
To ensure that your dress will arrive in time for wedding day - and have a window of time for alterations, of course - we recommend that all mothers order their dress at least 6 months before wedding day! Waiting too much longer beyond 6 months can lead to rush production fees, rush alteration fees, and limited options when shopping… all a bummer!

Added bonus: Once the dress arrives, Emily Hart Bridal has an in-house alterations team made up of Kansas City’s most talented seamstresses to help you hem, customize, and make your dress fit like a glove.
Should I know what my “style” is before I shop?
Don’t stress about knowing exactly what you want to wear before you arrive - our consultants have a true knack for helping a woman pinpoint her style! We do recommend that you consider waiting to purchase your gown until the bride has made the final decision for her bridesmaids’ dresses - that way we can help you coordinate your gown with her vision!
Do I need to make an appointment?
We ask that all mothers make an appointment when looking for their gown so that they can have a dressing room reserved, and the one-on-one attention of one of our consultants! (Who wouldn’t enjoy that kind of attention!?) You can book your appointment via our website, or giving us a call at 913-681-1500.
